Worrad Associates undertook a number of data collection exercises to obtain a clear understanding of the current situation regarding Southcorp’s voice, data and video capability and requirements, and the important requirements from the Southcorp business for the future capabilities that might be available once recommendations are implemented.
Hunter Councils Consolidated PBX
Executives of Worrad Associates were appointed by Hunter Councils Limited to investigate and determine the business case and business model for a consolidated PABX infrastructure with sufficient capacity and feature set to service the majority of councils represented within the Hunter Councils Limited organisation.
Show/Hide Details...
Exectuives from Worrad Associates extracted the functionality requirements of the equipment and services for this consolidated PBX from previous tender documents released by two of the four councils, and from our previous experience with the solutions being provided, and also through instituting a survey of requirements with two other councils that had not yet moved to RFT stage.
We started with the proposed systems, quoted capacity and quoted pricing model for the single councils that had already progressed to RFT stage. We then scaled up these solutions by using the consolidated functionality requirements that relate to volume capacity of the new larger proposed system - call volume, number of handsets, number of locations, etc.
Worrad Associates exectuives were able to achieve the following benefits for Hunter Councils by using this strategy
o Full Telephony and Call Centre services through a centralised PABX infrastructure
o Telephony cost reduction through least-cost connections to multiple Telco carriers and service providers.
o Inherent ‘Fault Tolerance’ of the PABX solution
This solution also offered additional services including:
o Hosting of other IT systems (alongside the PBX) in a controlled and secure environment, for Disaster Recovery
o “Remote Hands” System Administration and management
o Backup CD/DVD handling and management
o Remote on-line data storage in a robust Storage Area Network environment
